Rickie Gibson

Personal Trainer

With more than 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry, Rickie has helped people of all ages and fitness levels achieve lasting results through challenging, effective and enjoyable training.

Based in Brisbane, and with experience working in New Zealand, Rickie has contributed across many areas of the fitness industry—from owning and operating his own gym to mentoring personal trainers, providing one-on-one coaching and leading corporate fitness programs.

Growing up playing rugby league, Rickie developed the discipline, resilience and work ethic that continue to shape his coaching today. As a father of four, he understands the challenges of balancing work, family and personal health. He is passionate about helping clients build realistic habits that fit into everyday life.

Rickie genuinely loves what he does and feels fortunate to work with such great clients. Helping people grow in confidence, improve their health and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach is what motivates him every day.

Experience

Rickie holds Certificates III and IV in Fitness, is CrossFit certified and holds a CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certificate.

Throughout his career, he has coached hundreds of clients with a diverse range of goals. He creates personalised training programs that deliver results while keeping sessions varied, motivating and enjoyable.

An accomplished endurance athlete, Rickie has completed multiple marathons and trail races, as well as numerous 100 km ultramarathons. This firsthand experience gives him a deep understanding of the physical and mental commitment required to pursue ambitious goals.

Coaching Philosophy

Rickie believes lasting results come from consistency, accountability and a willingness to challenge yourself. His coaching style is supportive and motivating, with a focus on helping every client become stronger, fitter and more confident.

Sessions are varied, but never random. By thoughtfully incorporating different training methods and exercises, Rickie keeps workouts engaging, helps clients avoid plateaus and supports steady progress.

He also believes great results are built both inside and outside the gym. As he often says, “You can’t out-train a bad diet.” By combining effective training with sustainable nutrition and lifestyle habits, Rickie helps clients achieve long-term success—not just short-term results.

Whether you’re beginning your fitness journey or looking to take your performance to the next level, you can expect professional coaching, genuine support and sessions that challenge you to be your best.

One factual point to check: confirm that “CrossFit Olympic Lifting Certificate” is the credential’s exact official name. CrossFit has used names such as “CrossFit Weightlifting” for some courses.
